Helping Tech, helping the community
Attending an out of state school is expensive. The chapter created a scholarship fund in 1994 to help promote the University to Triangle area students and give some assistance. The chapter awarded it’s first scholarship in 1995. Since then number of scholarships awarded yearly has doubled and the total value has quadrupled.
This scholarship is open to all rising freshmen from high schools in the chapter area who will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall. The recipient is selected by a panel of alumni volunteers. The scholarship is administered by the Virginia Tech Foundation.
How to Apply
Students from the chapter area who have applied for admission Virginia Tech, have a minimum GPA of 3.5, and have a minimum SAT score of 1300 may apply for the chapter scholarship.
The Virginia Tech Alumni Association office in Blacksburg will be notifying all eligible applicants about how to access scholarship applications on-line. For more information, please contact Ginny Ritenour, Chapter Program Administrative Coordinator, at ginnyrit@vt.edu.
