Wine Tasting and Speaker Event

Seeds sown over the past 20 years have taken root and the Blacksburg-Roanoke region is about to make headlines as a world-class center for science-based entrepreneurship in the 21st century.

Join fellow alumni, family, and friends for an exciting wine tasting and presentation. Attendees will also be able to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win great prizes.  All proceeds benefit our chapter scholarship fund.

Date: Thursday, March 25, 2010 (RSVP by March 19th)
Location: Hi-5, 510 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27603 (map)
Time: 6:30 – 8:30 PM
Cost: $32 per person and includes wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, and presentation.

Big Boss Brewery Tour

Join your fellow RTP Hokies for a fun Saturday afternoon, with a tour of the Big Boss Brewery!

Date: Saturday, February 13, 2010
Time: 1:45pm – 3:00pm
Location: Big Boss Brewery, 1249 Wicker Drive, Raleigh, NC 27604

We’ll meet at 1:45pm on Saturday, February 13th. The tour is free, and beer samples are available for $1 each (limit 3). Big Boss doesn’t take reservations, and the tour is popular, so be sure to arrive by 1:45 to ensure a spot.

Wear your Hokies gear so we can all find each other–we’ll meet out front in the parking lot.

      Join fellow Hokies and friends for our annual brewery tour! This year we’ll be heading down Aviator in Fuquay-Varina where Hotrod Red, Devils Tramping Ground Triple, Madbeach American Wheat, Steamhead, and Hogwild India Pale are full timers, and Frostnipper is in for the winter. If we’re lucky, we might even get a chance to sample some one of the occasional Hangar Series brews. This will be a private tour just for our group so please be sure to arrive as on time as possible, and remember that the admission ticket for the tour is purchasing a pint. Our tour will begin at 2:00, and the venue will open to the public at 3:00. Please be aware that Aviator has multiple locations. We will be touring the actual brewery, which is located at 209 Technology Park Lane, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526 so don’t let Google lead you astray! This venue does not offer food. We’ll gather at Big Boss Brewery then we’ll head out to the Greenway together for the 3.2 mile run/walk. This event is open to all, and those who choose not to run or walk are still encouraged to join us at Big Boss after the run to spend time with other Hokies and friends.
